A Vet’s Experience At the 2023 Club Fair

Hello, I'm Rowan, a member of the Blue Cheese Robotics team, and my experience at the club fair was exciting and fun!

I mainly walked around with my partner Zach, talking to people about our robotics team and giving them cards for more information about our team and what we do. It was interesting talking to people about their interests in robotics and helping them to feel inspired about joining Blue Cheese.

I also got the chance to help and drive robots around the field we set up to showcase our robots. We brought two robots to the orientation: Monty, our rookie bot; and Opus 42, the 2022 season robot. It was a lot of fun driving the rookie bot around the field and catching the balls shot by Opus 42

There were food trucks with ice cream and snow cones, so that was a treat in the hot weather. The food trucks offered different kinds of food like fries, hamburgers, and shredded pork. I ended up buying chicken tenders, fries, ice cream, and a snow cone.

By the time it was one o’clock, most of the people had either left or gone inside the school, so I hung out with the team members until we all packed up and went home.

The orientation was an awesome experience and definitely worth doing again next year when school starts in 2024.
