Team Captain Josh - Building Friends For Life through FIRST® Robotics
High school was a big deal for Josh; he was accepted to the Center for Information Technology at Deep Run, due to his incredible programming skills and love of technology. He was not only welcomed to the CIT, but as well by the Blue Cheese 1086 FIRST® Robotics team.
Some friends approached Josh in hope that he would join the Blue Cheese team. At first, Josh was hesitant; he wasn't sure what it was about, but he was willing to give it a try. Pretty soon, Josh was recognized as an unbelievable programmer and his talents were put to good use.
Every year he worked on programming the robot, teaching others how to program, and was partially responsible for the coding on our website. At the end of junior year, Josh was asked to become a co-captain of the FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) team for the 2011 season.
Josh was always more comfortable with interactions through technology, but FIRST® Robotics has transformed him from shy and quiet to a confident presenter and leader. He has become an integral part of almost every aspect of our team, but more importantly he has made friends that will last a lifetime. After his years in Blue Cheese FIRST® Robotics he plans to major in Computer Science and promises to mentor our team through web media.
