Formerly called FIRST Vex Challenge, the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is a smaller version of the FIRST Robotics Competition. Middle school and high school students are given a challenge every year and are required to build and program a robot using only a standard kit of parts provided to every team. FTC robots are much smaller than FRC robots and must fit with an 18" by 18" by 18" cube. This year's FTC game is Hot Shot.
