FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is a competition for elementary and middle school students interested in robotics and engineering. Students aged 9–14 learn to create and program a LEGO robot for competition, research problems in our world, and develop imaginative, out-of-the-box solutions to help solve them.

As an FRC team, we help spread the word of FIRST in our community by helping children create brighter futures. Blue Cheese is currently helping new teams at local elementary and middle schools. After teams are formed, Blue Cheese can mentor and help the kids prepare for competition. This is about the students, and therefore, it is our firm belief that they build their robot and do the work themselves, following FIRST’s ideal of gracious professionalism.

How can my child join a FIRST team at his/her school?

If you would like your child to become a part of FLL in our area (Glen Allen), please fill out a registration form. We will look to see if there is an FLL team at their school, and contact you if there is a team with space available. If there is not a team at his/her school, or if it is full, we will try to find another match or help you to start a new team.

Important Dates

For our area, registration begins on May 3 and ends on June 9.

Spring Recruitment Demo is on May 15th (Twin Hickory Library)

Fall FLL Demo October/November TBA

The FLL competition starts on September 3 and runs until November.
