Like any good cheese, we're a mixture: almost 1/3 new cheese rookies, 1/3 female, 1/3 minorities, and 1/3 FLL veterans sprinkled liberally with FRC veteran members and mentors. Our ingredients churn actively all year around to produce a zesty cheese with a powerful personality!
Blue Cheese Robotics is an innovative and creative program whose mission is to inspire and create excitement in students for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Our team participates in the FIRST Tech Challenge - Team 93 Blue Cheese Jr. and the FIRST Robotics Competition - Team 1086 Blue Cheese. We also inspire future engineers by building and demonstrating our robots to the community.
Deep Run High School is unique in that it contains Henrico County's Center for Information Technology (CIT). The Center nurtures students that have a strong passion for computers and information technology by teaching them computer programming, web design/development skills, and valuable project management practices. Blue Cheese is fortunate in that over 25% of our members attend the CIT and lend their skills to the team through programming the robot as well as managing our award-winning websites.
